EZRoam: Tips Before You Travel
1. Sign up with EZRoam - Sign
up and, more important, download the software before your trip.
2. Update the Phone Book - Click on "Options" then "Update Phone Book" while online. The software will update automatically.
3. Check out the cities you'll be visiting - Launch the EZRoam dialer. Select the country and city you'll be visiting. See how many #s and ways to connect are available. Test one of the numbers out.
| 4. Look up hotels with high-speed connections - You may want to plan where you stay based on the type of connection you can get with EZRoam. Check the EZRoamwith high-speed connections first. |
5. Take along the right cords and phone adapters - Will you be connecting via Dial-Up numbers? You'll need a modem and a phone cord (RJ-11). For wired Broadband, you'll need an RJ-45 Ethernet cable. For wireless Hot Spots, you'll need wireless capability (built-in or via a Wireless 802.11b card). If you're traveling to other countries, you may need both electrical and phone plug adapters.
| You're all set! Once you've tested it, you can start out on your trip with confidence that you'll be able to connect to the Web and access your email (web-based email or using VPN if your company has this method installed). |
