Convertible Laptop Case and patented MRoller Receive Product
Innovation Award
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE....March 21, 2005.
Award recognizes the benefit of
2-cases-in-1: wheels when you want them, a lightweight briefcase when you don't
NORWALK, CONNECTICUT -- On the heels of their debut, the new MVision
Convertible Case and companion product, MRollerTM, received a
2005 Product Innovation Award at last week's Travel Goods Show, sponsored by
the Travel Goods Association, in Orlando, Florida. The patent-pending MRoller
is a sleek, ultra-portable 1.8 pound roller attachment that unfolds
like an umbrella, telescopes and attaches to any MVision Convertible Case in
seconds, turning it into a rolling case on demand.
Why a Convertible Case? A convertible case is more convenient and
ergonomic for anyone traveling with a notebook computer -- commuters,
globe-trotters, or students. "There are times when you want wheels and times
when you don't." explains Dale Hollingsworth, case designer and President. " A
standard roller presents a number of hassles: it adds extra weight and it's
cumbersome when handling stairs and taxi cabs. It's not as professional when
you're entering a client meeting. But there are times when wheels are useful:
whenever the distance is long and you're loaded down with 15 pounds of glossy
catalogs or accessories. And if you're rushing to catch a plane or train, then
wheels are essential. Our new dynamic duo - a convertible case paired with the
MRoller - gives you the best of both worlds: a professional briefcase and a
roller."
How does it work? The MRoller can be attached or detached from the case
in a matter of seconds. It unfolds in a single motion, similar to an umbrella,
revealing a sturdy platform that can hold up to 50 pounds. The MRoller slips
through the rear sleeve and slides onto a clip built into the back of every
MVision Convertible Case. Since the MRoller only weighs 1.8 pounds, the
combined weight of an MVision convertible case and the MRoller is less than a
standard rolling case.
Innovative features address mobility and security. MVision Convertible
Cases come in a range of sizes and styles, including a professional-style
backpack. New design features include:
-
GeminiTM handle: two handles with embedded
(computer-safe) magnets that make them stay together, which eliminates constant
reaching for both halves.
-
QuickDraw Pocket: select models feature a new patent-pending QuickDrawTM
pocket for cell phone/PDA/digital camera or MP3 player, based on a unique hinge
that snaps open and shut at a touch.
-
An Airport Security Pocket is a convenient front-of-the-case pocket for
coins, keys, and other alarm-triggering items.
"We wanted to provide truly 'instant access' on our cases. You don't have to
set your case down, unzip and search through pockets for items. It's all at
your fingertips." explains Hollingsworth. Most models come with
state-of-the-art air cushion protection for a notebook computer and all the new
cases are designed to meet current carry-on requirements. The MRoller roller
attachment is nor designed to, and is not warranted, to survive as checked
baggage.
Price and Availability: MVision Convertible Cases and MRoller
are available at select luggage stores nationwide and online at EZM.com at
suggested retail prices of $49.00 for the MRoller and $70.00 to $425.00 for
cases.
